Macleay Valley Art Exhibition |
The art on display was awsome and to my surprise,
I sold "The Lakes". Russell was also happy with
selling "Rock Holes". This really makes the time
and effort we have spent in creating new work
worth perseveering in exhibiting in the galleries
on the North Coast.
The next exhibition will be in Stuarts Point at
the "Yarrahapinni Festival at the end of August
followed by the Coffs Harbour's Botanical Garden
in Septembre.

Russell's Fault (Acrylic on Canvas) |
I was trying a new technique for my next project by
using thick lines at random. As I had to let them
dry before going any further, I put the canvas on
the ground. At some stage Russell foraged for paint
tubes and dropped one on my canvas making a mess of
it. Determined to do something with it, I started
covering it in black and then worked some colours
on it. This is how "Russell's Fault" came to be. I
like the painting a lot and will do more in that
"new" technique.

Wombat Resort Art Exhibition |
The Crescent Head Parents & Citizens Association
Art Exhibition was a great success and I
congratulate Amanda Holmes for her enthusiasm and
kindness.
The opening night was well organised and the
service and food second to none.
The quality of the art on display was of a very
high standard and it was an honour for me to be
amongst all this talent.
I was very fortunate to sell 2 of my driftwood:
"Barramundi" and also the "Dream Castle" who I
believe was purchased by the Mayor of Kempsey,
Betty Green. Thank you! See Russell's website for
more info and pictures:

Exhibition |
I am looking forward to exhibiting a few paintings
at the Crescent Head Wombat Beach Resort Art
Exhibition. It will be from Friday 28th to Sunday
30th of March. I have not yet made up my mind on
the number of paintings and which ones, but will
write a blog after the event

| Looking forward to new work |
Well It's is quite a while since I have written
anything on this site. First, I must say that I
have not produced more paintings in the last 10
years than I have for the last 12 months.
I must thank Russell for this.
I have enjoyed the dot paintings immensely, soaking
up the magic but I must say that I have tried a few
conventional ones with a mixed result. Only a few
are posted on this site... !!! The rest got ditched...
Never mind, the major thing is for me to enjoy what
I am doing and at the same time it is very
important for me to expand creatively as an artist.
I have just watched an amazing short Australian
film on SBS with Russell (Thank You SBS for your
very high quality content, especially Australian
produced shorts and movies) starring David
Gulpillil (whom I met in 2004 at Brisbane airport
on my way to Darwin and we had a chat whilst we
were waiting for our planes... Extraordinary man I
must say) the movie is called "Crocodile Dreaming".
One of the shots showed a crocodile's eye sideways.
When I saw it, I thought I had to paint something
like this.....
So wait for it, I have purchased my first 'big &
wide mounted' canvas for that particular project. I
have just finished the first draft and I am
confident that I will be able to create a nice
piece of art.
...Well we will wait and see. I must also say a
'Thank You' to Helen for visiting my web site
regularly. I look forward to your 'future'
comments......
